The FLYING PICKETS - Live @ Albany Empire (1982) REPOST

Here's yet another one that survived many years on a trusty Maxell tape, then made into a CD. I bought the vinyl one day on Yonge Street, as I had heard some of their stuff on CFNY. They play it for laughs here in several spots, but these guys can really deliver vocally!

I thought I had lost a few tracks when I taped the LP to cassette, but doesn't look like it.

I play this every once & a while when I want a COMPLETE change from the norm! Or when I want a good laugh.......great stuff though.

Great little live set here! Yet another from the mighty CFNY, and the fabulous El Macombo! I never realized how many shows I have from there.

Didn't really know much about Tom Robinson back in the day, other than the usual (you know....HE'S GAY! ha ha ha). I think my buddy Alex bought the Power in the Darkness album, and after a few listens, we didn't care which way he "swung"......we just knew the album rocked. Full of spirit, conviction and some damn good songs (that stand up to this day!).

I truely think that he was one of those cats (yes, yet another one!) that if "people" (aka American Midwest) actually got to HEAR his songs, they would probably dug them. But you know how it goes.....especially way back in the day......."Glad to be Gay"??? I can hear the radio stations now "oh, that one is destined for the circle file"......sad.......

Anyhow, for those hipsters on the block......ENJOY!! Not too sure if this one is out and about, but I'm hoping the fans will sniff it out and dig it.

Very strong sound quality on this - likely a 9+. Again, another gem I had on the trusty Maxell 90 min. tape, and made into a CD this decade. Loving it......

As requested.....a great little Max set from 1977! All props to original poster - sorry don't remember who's blog I snagged this from. This is primo Max at their best......a radio broadcast done by CFNY Toronto. This station is now one of those damned awful "new music" type things, but back in the day it was a pretty cool place to catch both cutting edge and new music (as in NOT HEARD BEFORE, NOT major label, NOT from California, etc). Can't recall when I started listening to this station, but in the 80's it was THE station to listen to in Toronto. Obviously, they delved into some pretty cool things in the late 70's too (and hats off to them for it)!
